Plasnomic Shines Bright in Dubai

Led by our regional Council representative Graham Threlfall, Plasnomic’s recent engagement in Dubai and the wider Middle East marked a major step forward in advancing modern plastic repair practices across the region. Over an intensive ten-day period, Graham who was joined by Mario Dimovski connected with collision repairers, MSOs, insurers, distributors, OEM-aligned stakeholders, and industry bodies  all united by a shared recognition that plastic repair must evolve.

The visit coincided with Automechanika Dubai, where Plasnomic’s on-stage session by Mario Dimovski was extremely well received. The presentation became a catalyst for ongoing discussions throughout the event, highlighting the growing challenges around plastic repair quality, parts backorders, repair cycle efficiency, and sustainability. The response confirmed that the region is actively seeking structured leadership and practical solutions.

Beyond the show floor, Plasnomic held meetings with major MSOs and repair groups operating across the UAE and surrounding markets. Insurers echoed similar concerns, pointing to increasing delays, rising costs, and inconsistent repair outcomes driven by limited plastic repair capability and training. Distributors from across Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, and the UAE expressed strong interest in aligning with Plasnomic standards and representing approved, best-practice product ecosystems.

Across every conversation, one theme was consistent:
there is currently no credible, end-to-end standard for plastic repair in the region. Many businesses rely on fragmented or self-taught methods that compromise quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

In addition to scheduled meetings, Plasnomic was invited to participate in multiple industry open days, product launches, award ceremonies, and closed-door strategic sessions. These engagements provided direct access to senior decision-makers and reinforced the growing trust in the Plasnomic vision and framework.

A key opportunity emerged to establish a Plasnomic-Certified foundation MSO in the region. This site would serve as a regional benchmark, demonstrating measurable improvements in repair quality, cycle time, cost control, and sustainability and acting as a live engagement hub for insurers, regulators, and repair networks.

There was also strong interest in developing a circular plastic repair and restoration ecosystem, addressing plastic recovery, reprocessing, and sustainability reporting an area where the region currently lacks a complete solution despite clear demand.

The success of this engagement was driven by Plasnomic Council Member Graham Threlfall, whose leadership, regional knowledge, and industry relationships played a pivotal role. Graham’s ability to translate the Plasnomic framework into meaningful, practical conversations helped open doors, build trust, and accelerate momentum across all sectors of the industry.

Dubai has proven to be a region ready for change. Plasnomic is now well positioned to build on this momentum supporting better repair outcomes, stronger standards, and a more sustainable future for plastic repair across the Middle East and beyond.
