Alberto Martínez Barceló of CESVIMAP Joins the Plasnomic Alliance Council

Plasnomic is pleased to announce the appointment of Alberto Martínez Barceló, Head of Body Repair at CESVIMAP, to the Plasnomic Alliance Council.

CESVIMAP, MAPFRE’s internationally recognized mobility research, development and road-safety center, is a global leader in vehicle repair research, technical training, advanced materials, repairability, sustainability and emerging automotive technologies.

An industrial engineer with more than 15 years of experience at CESVIMAP, Alberto has held senior technical and management roles spanning vehicle damage assessment, repair-cost analysis, paint technology and body repair.

Today, Alberto leads some of CESVIMAP’s most advanced collision-repair research and innovation projects. His work focuses on developing and validating improved repair processes, expanding component repairability, advancing technical knowledge and supporting greater safety, efficiency and sustainability throughout the global automotive aftermarket.

“Alberto’s appointment brings one of Europe’s foremost collision-repair experts—and the considerable technical strength of CESVIMAP to the Plasnomic Alliance Council,” said Mario Dimovski, President of Plasnomic.

“His ability to connect rigorous research with practical repair outcomes will be invaluable as we establish evidence-driven plastic-repair best practices, training and industry guidance. We look forward to working closely with Alberto and benefiting from his technical feedback, independent perspective and strategic direction as our research and industry programs continue to develop.”

Alberto’s appointment also creates an important foundation for Plasnomic and CESVIMAP to explore broader collaboration opportunities. These may include joint research, technical validation, knowledge exchange, education and the development of internationally relevant guidance to support safer, more consistent and more sustainable plastic-repair practices.

“CESVIMAP’s international experience and research capabilities make it an extremely valuable organization for Plasnomic to engage with,” Dimovski added. “We believe there is considerable potential for our organizations to work together, challenge conventional thinking and help establish a stronger technical foundation for the future of collision & plastic repair.”

Through the Alliance Council, Alberto will provide valuable insight as Plasnomic continues to examine repairability, repair methodology, technical validation, training, documentation and the broader economic and environmental impact of plastic repair.

His appointment further strengthens the Council’s international technical expertise and reinforces Plasnomic’s commitment to developing guidance that is independent, credible, research-led and relevant to the needs of the global collision-repair industry.

Welcome, Alberto Martínez Barceló
