Plasnomic and its collaborative partner, CSN Italy, are proud to announce the launch of the first collaborative MSO initiative promoting a repair-first strategy, implementing Plasnomic’s best-practice repair methods on polypropylene bumper covers.
This initiative marks a major milestone for Plasnomic, representing over nine months of extensive research, development, and collaboration focused on establishing best-practice solutions for the most common plastic repairs in modern collision repair. The program is centered on polypropylene bumper repairs and utilizes a filler-less repair methodology designed to ensure repaired components perform as originally intended—structurally, mechanically, and functionally.
The launch will begin with 10 CSN repair shops in Italy, serving as the pilot group for hands-on implementation, training, and digital certification. Following this initial phase, the program is scheduled to expand to up to 90 CSN shops throughout the region, creating a scalable and repeatable model for standardized plastic repair excellence.
This two-day event, hosted at AMBRA Repair Facility in Brescia, an 80,000 sq ft workshop recognized as one of the most advanced and visually impressive repair centres in the world.
A key component of this initiative is CSN Italy’s collaboration with local insurance partners who actively support a repair-first strategy. This approach prioritizes high-quality plastic repair over unnecessary replacement, delivering measurable benefits across cost, cycle time, and repair quality, while significantly improving sustainability outcomes.
By increasing plastic repair adoption, the program directly contributes to plastic parts diversion, reducing landfill waste and lowering the environmental footprint associated with new part manufacturing and logistics.
At the core of the initiative is Plasnomic’s Certification Software and mobile application, which will enter test mode for the first time. The platform delivers repair vs replace data, digital compliance verification, technician certification and technical support.. It supports consistency, transparency, and measurable quality outcomes across participating repair facilities, insurers, and industry stakeholders.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to advancing plastic repair away from inconsistent methods and toward verified, repeatable, and OEM-compatible best practices,” said Roberto Sticca (General Manager CSN Italy). “Together with Plasnomic, our network, and key insurance partners, we are demonstrating how repair-first strategies executed to uniform standards can align performance, profitability, and environmental responsibility.”
The launch of the program and training day, with leading managers and technicals was supported by CSN Local Partner and Plasnomics Alliance contributor 3M, who showcased their high quality range of pre and post repair solutions that included safety and protective products, plastic cleaning and abrasives. The plastic welding solution was sponsored by local equipment partner MNM Italy.
Building on this foundation, Plasnomic plans to launch similar initiatives with its global network of MSO partners, expanding the certification framework across additional regions and markets.
This collaboration represents a critical step in raising the standard of plastic repair worldwide—through the right methods, the right training, the right tools and materials, all supported by advanced software applications.
